Harold Eugene Bishop, of Elizabeth , son of the late John W. Bishop and Grace Ellen Vandergriff Bishop, was born November 29, 1940 in Miller, MO. He died April 7, 2015 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home at the age of 74 years 4 months and 9 days.

He was united in marriage to Genette Laymon Nov. 3, 1962 at Harrison. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed Nascar racing and at one time he worked on the pit crew of Larry Phillips in Springfield, MO. He owned and operated his own dump truck, working for various companies building roads throughout the state. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Rowan and Olivia. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Genette of the family home in Elizabeth; his daughter, Julie Ann Bishop James of Viola; his son, John Jeffrey Bishop of Mountain Home; his grandchildren: Rowan James and Olivia Jane Bishop; one brother, Willie Bishop of Republic, MO; two sisters: Doris Gail Zane of Republic, MO., and Shirley Gray of Billings, MO; five nieces, five nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Graveside services are Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 3 pm at Flora Cemetery with burial to follow under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 pm.

Pallbearers are: Tim Bishop, Tony Bishop, Richard Naegler, Duane Barber, Gaylon Wyatt and Leroy Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Gray, Alan Hampton, Kermit Cotter and Charlie Crotts, Roy Collins, Scott Collins, and Danny Young.
