Clyde O'dell Gilliam, 79, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away on April 3, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was born on October 23, 1943 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Clyde was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a medic. Throughout his life, he made his home in various places, including Arizona, Indiana, Kentucky, and Arkansas. He was a talented woodworker, upholsterer, furniture-maker, artist, gardener, and had a great love for nature, especially birds.
He is survived by three children, Lori Gilliam of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; Jessie Rae of Wangen im Allgaeu, Germany; and Patrick Gilliam of Indianapolis, Indiana. Along with his children, he has 8 grandchildren: Rebecca Bandy, Elisabeth Wisdom, Victoria Sveen, Gabrielle Sveen, Iroh Rust, Alva Huebner, and Xaeden Gilliam. He has 4 great-grandchildren: Tamerlan Dugger, Laikynn Dugger, Reagan Sveen, and Kennedy Sveen.
He was preceeded in death by his father, John Gilliam; mother, Mary Ellen Spoon; stepfather, George Spoon; sister, Nell Poteet; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 7, 2023, at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas beginning at 2:30 PM. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM.
