Ethel Armelda Morris

Ethel Armelda (Hall) Morris, 80, of Gepp, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Salem, Arkansas.

She was born in Saddle, Arkansas, on May 16, 1943, daughter of the late Claude and Jessie Lola (Estes) Hall. Ethel was united in marriage to Cecil Morris on February 3, 1968, in Elizabeth, Arkansas, and to this union one daughter was born, Cecilia. Ethel spent 20 years working at Tri County Shirt Factory where she was a supervisor for many of those years and since her time there many people have talked about how they loved working for her. During her time at the shirt factory, she made many memories of riding the ferry to work and loved to share them with her family and friends. After her time at the shirt factory, Ethel started milking with Cecil and spent the next 20 years working on the farm. Ethel was employed at the Viola School District for many years where she worked in the cafeteria and as a custodian in the high school. She enjoyed her time at the school and spent most her days laughing with the other ladies. Ethel loved to “yodel” and embarrass her granddaughters. She treasured her many vacations with Cecil’s Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob. Ethel was an active member of County Line Baptist Church. The small loving congregation was an extension of her family. Ethel loved her granddaughters and great grandchildren immensely. One of her greatest joys was watching them play ball and they could always count on her being there to cheer them on.

Ethel is survived by her husband, Cecil Morris; daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia and Billy Taylor; granddaughters, Chelsea Brickey and husband Garrett and Leslie James and husband Wes; four great grandchildren, Kreet Brickey, Rhett James, Brynn Brickey and Avery James; three nephews, Bobby Ray Humphrey and wife Linda, Marc Hall and Curtis Hall and two nieces, Kellye Jo McNulty and husband Steve and Ginny Lynn Alford and husband Greg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Boyd Ray Hall and Noble Dale Hall; one sister, Eulalie Humphrey; great grandson, Wyatt James; niece, Donna Sue Martin; brother-in-law, Oliver Humphrey and sister-in-law, Wanda Jean Hall.
