Glynda Jean “Jeannie” Phelps, 80, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, October 9, 2026, at her home.

She was born on February 16, 1946, in Bono, Arkansas, to the late Walter and Roxie (Foust) Douglas. She was united in marriage to Willis Phelps in Bono on July 4, 1996. During her working years, she spent 19 years as a claims supervisor for Walmart. Jeannie attended Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas, and worked in the food room. She loved being outdoors and she loved animals. Jeannie especially loved her pet chickens, goats, and dogs. Jeannie most of all loved her family.

Jeannie is survived by her husband, Willis Phelps of Salem, Arkansas; son, Douglas Clinton Harrison (Cindy) of Williford, Arkansas and step-son Donny Phelps of Agnos; daughter, Lisa Bujarkski (Rod) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Bryan Johnson (Tiffany), Tiffany Burnette (Stefan), Charles Johnson, Kevin Bujarski (Jenny), Mark Bujarski (Kori), Rachel Laycook, Hayden Phelps and Megan Perch; 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Douglas, Sonny Douglas, W.G. Douglas, John Douglas and Dobbin Douglas and sisters, Grace Dorton, Veta Meurer, Juanita Dobbs and Maxine Rose.

Pallbearers include: Cliff Rose, Farley Douglas, James Dorton, Steve Dorton, Danny Phelps, Bryan Johnson and Tyler Johnson

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8 PM at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. Burial will follow services in Agnos Cemetery in Agnos, Arkansas.
