Janie Mae Hutson

Janie Mae Hutson, 69, of Viola, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was born on February 16, 1956, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to the late Hershel Wayne and Leta (Bell) Lucy. She was united in marriage to Vernon Dean Hutson on August 31, 1974, in Calico Rock, Arkansas. During her working years, she worked as a tax preparer. Janie attended Impact Faith Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She enjoyed painting and taking pictures. Janie was an excellent writer. She was friendly and never met a stranger. Janie loved her family and spending time with them always brought her joy. Christmas was Janie’s favorite holiday; she loved to decorate and buy her family gifts.

Janie is survived by her husband, Vernon Hutson of Viola, Arkansas; sons, Bill “Brad” Hutson (Carla Hambelton) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Jayme Dean Hutson of Viola, Arkansas; brothers, David Wayne Lucy (Sue) of Violet Hill, Arkansas and Roger Lynn Lucy of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sisters, Anna Bell Martin of Salem, Arkansas and Mary Ellen Miller of Salem, Arkansas; grandchildren, Macayla Ann Hutson, Madison Jane Hutson, Shelby Buck Hutson, Roxie Speirs, Clayton Orr and Coby Orr; one great grandchild and aunt, Rhea Ducker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Fran Hurst.

Pallbearers include: BJ Humphries, Justin Shrable, Steven Bolka, Marshall Morris, Jeremy Witt and Gary Wayne Hutson

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Pastor Monte Neal officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sublett Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas.
