Kenneth Dean Warden

Kenneth Dean Warden, 72, of Morriston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, in Salem, Arkansas. 

He was born in Morriston, Arkansas, on January 17, 1951, son of the late Iven Dean and Naomi Sue (Bell) Warden. 

Kenny was united in marriage to Blanche Franklin on July 27, 1983, in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. He attended Morriston Church of Christ. 

Kenny served our country in the United States Army for two separate periods. He first enlisted for two years from 1971 to 1973 as a UH-1 and UH-2 helicopter mechanic. Kenny was deployed to support Vietnam for one year. During that time, he achieved rank of Specialist Five. After returning to the Salem area, Kenny enlisted once again as a single channel radio operator in 1982 and served until 1992. This 10-year enlistment included two tours at Fort Lewis, Washington, two tours in Germany and the rank achievement of Corporal. Kenny was very proud of his service and exemplified what it is to be a soldier for life. 

After his time in the military, Kenny worked for Walmart for 25 years. He enjoyed watching wildlife, hunting, fishing and taking care of their beloved dachshund, Marti. Kenny loved his family and especially enjoyed spending countless hours playing with his great granddaughter, Caroline Jayne. 

Kenny is survived by his wife, Blanche Warden of Morriston, Arkansas; Sons, Rolland (Denise) Warden, Randy (Jolene) Hill, Bryon Hill, Mark (Heike) Hill, George (Donna) Hill and Bradley Warden; daughter, Ruby (Mark) Collins; brother-in-law, George Vassaur; sister, Sheila (Ray) Delargy; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cathy Vassaur. 

Pallbearers include: Wade Collins, Casey Collins, Mark Collins, Nick Delargy, Tyler Delargy and Mark Bassham

Honorary Pallbearers include: Mike Stone, Lidia Collins, Keith McHenry and Larry Langston

Funeral services will be Friday, December 8, 2023, beginning at 12:00 PM with Bro. George R. Hill officiating at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Morriston Cemetery in Morriston, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
