Opal Mae Dunn

Opal Mae Dunn, 93, of Highland, Arkansas, passed away, Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Benton.

She was born in Winona, Missouri, on September 6, 1929, daughter of the late Walter and Madge (Atkins) Burns. Opal was united in marriage to the late Ernie “Wayne” Dunn on December 24, 1949, in Hardy, Arkansas and from this union one daughter was born. She was a member of the Highland Assembly of God in Highland, Arkansas. Opal’s greatest loves were her Lord, family, friends, church and home. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a careful and enthusiastic homemaker. She enjoyed beautiful natural scenery, especially the mountains, and had a soft spot for animals. Opal loved to help others and had a heart for service.

Opal is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ranie Sturba of Benton and granddaughter, Hannah Bailey of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Dunn; parents, Walter and Madge Burns; brother, Earl Burns and sisters, Evelyn Burns and Peggy Burns.

Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Highland Assembly of God in Highland, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chris Clem officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Cemetery in Wirth, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
