Wesley Duane Williams

Wesley Duane Williams, 83, of Viola, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home.

He was born on August 10, 1939, in Mitchell, Arkansas, to Samuel Audra and Ada Mae (Mitchell) Williams. During his working years, Duane worked as a carpenter. He was also a farmer and raised cows, which he very much enjoyed. Duane was a hunter and fisherman. He hunted deer and squirrel. Duane was a western man at heart. He loved watching, reading westerns, and dressing in western shirts and hats. His favorite western books were those by Louis L’Amour. Duane enjoyed traveling to the Bluff. He was of the Christian faith and belonged to Hebron Community Church in Mitchell.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Danny Williams of Viola, Arkansas; daughters, Lisa (Paul) Chesney of Paola, Kansas and Karen (Craig) Zehner of Kansas; brother, Max (Kaye) Williams; grandchildren, Shane Lynch, Karysa Johnson, Karah Steinke, Charley Provence and Joshua Cole and great grandchildren, Willow McNary, Luke McNary, Noah Blanchard, Levi Hill, Aiden Leftwich, Trenton Provence and Parker McNary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rexal Williams and Devoe Williams and sisters, Lucille Wist and Sharon Kay Williams.

Pallbearers include: Paul Chesney, James Fewins, Joshua Cole, Clint Vandergiff, Bryan Harris and James Newman

Honorary Pallbearers include: Max Williams, Levi Hill, Brent Williams, Alex Harris, Nathan Harris and Aiden Leftwich

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Doty Family Funeral Service Chapel in Salem, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Tom Doty officiating Burial will follow services at Hebron Cemetery in Viola. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
