Jackie Howell

Jackie Lee Howell, 60, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Salem, Arkansas.

He was born in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas on August 15, 1960, son of the late Granville Porter “Jack” Howell and Mondra Elizabeth Mullins. Jackie was united in marriage to Julie Howell Rogers in Elizabeth, Arkansas on November 2, 1985, and from this union one son and a daughter was born.

Jackie loved deer hunting, looking for arrowheads, fishing, and hiking. He was a big storyteller as well as a rock hound. He spent many years working as a logger/trucker. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved his family and granddaughter. He was a member of the Mount Calm Church in Mount Calm, Arkansas.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Julie Howell of Salem, Arkansas; son, Heath Howell of Salem, Arkansas; daughter Heather Carl (Tyler) of Salem, Arkansas; brothers, Granville Porter Howell of Viola, Arkansas and James Henry Howell of Salem, Arkansas; sisters, Tennie Sullins (Mike) of Elizabeth, Arkansas and half-sisters, Mondra Rose of  California; granddaughter, LeeAnn Carl of Salem, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville Porter “Jack” Howell and Mondra Elizabeth Mullins Howell; half-sister, May Alford; and half-brother, Joey Fowler.

Pallbearers include: Heath Howell, Tyler Carl, Tony Rogers, and Marx Price.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Mike Sullins and Roy Rogers, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, June 19, 2021, Mount Calm Church in Mount Calm, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Calm Cemetery in Mount Calm, Arkansas. Visitation will be at Doty Family Funeral Chapel in Salem, Friday, June 18, 2021 from 5:00-700 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Doty Family Funeral Service.
