Rodney Joe Cotham, 72, of Ash Flat, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Ash Flat.

He was born in Trenton, Tennessee on March 18, 1948, son of the late Rex Albert and Sybil Jeanette (Scruggs) Cotham. Joe spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was united in marriage to Rita Southerland on December 22, 1968 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Joe spent his working years as a Realtor and owned United Country Cotham & Co. in Highland, Arkansas.  He was a past state Realtor of the Year and loved serving on the Arkansas Real Estate Foundation Board. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Hardy Lodge, and a member of Salem First Baptist Church at Salem, Arkansas.  Joe had the most generous heart and loved talking to and helping people every chance he could. Joe was quite the storyteller and had a story for every occasion.

Joe is survived by his wife, Rita Cotham of Ash Flat, Arkansas; son, Jef Cotham of Ash Flat, Arkansas; daughter, Kiki Crider and husband John of Little Flock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Elijah James Wiggins of Little Flock, Arkansas; Hannah Carson and husband Derec of Hindsville, Arkansas; great granddaughter, Eleanor Elizabeth Carson of Hindsville, Arkansas and a brother, Jimmy Cotham of Germantown, Tennessee, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jerry W. Cotham and Rex T. Cotham.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. John Hodges officiating.
